Establishment History
Distance Education Centers are institutions that provide educational services to students in cases where physical education cannot be provided. Their goal is to expand learning opportunities for students and staff by providing flexible, accessible and diverse learning options. These centers use technology to provide access to educational materials, courses and assessment tools via the Internet. Since the 2000s, such centers have been rapidly expanding around the world.
The Distance Education Research and Application Center at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was established by the decision of the Board of Trustees dated 28.03.2012 under the number 2012-01/2-2 to support the educational and training programs of our university. The Distance Education Research and Application Center plays an important role in ensuring the continuity of education at the university by providing students with materials on the courses taught at our university, as well as providing support in the field of online learning in unfavorable learning conditions. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, significant contributions and support were made to ensure the continuity of course teaching at our university through the developed e-course system.
The Centre for Distance Education Research and Application creates a digital university environment not only in emergency situations, but also in an online environment. All courses taught at our university are also available on the E-Course platform, which is managed by the Centre for Distance Education Research and Application. Students can thus quickly access course materials via the Internet, turning the E-Course platform into an online classroom. In addition, thanks to the E-Ders platform, general courses are taught entirely online. This ensures that general courses can be mastered more quickly and efficiently.
